Steven Smith
Smith is definitely into veteran territory, he’s 33 and left Kilmarnock last season after a long and successful career in the Scottish top flight.
He’s a left back primarily although it’s been suggested he can cover both sides, after all Neal Eardley once said ‘a full back is a full back’. Try telling that to Sean Long when he had to play on the left.
Smith has played much of his football for Rangers, both before their demotion to the basement division and then as they rose through the divisions. He recently spent three years with Kilmarnock nut also boats Aberdeen, Norwich, Preston and Portland Timbers on his CV.
He would only be as cover for Harry Toffolo and with Sam hopefully back soon it might not be required, but can we be too careful at this stage of the season?
