My Favoured Starting XI for Exeter City

RW: Harry Anderson

Right is left, left is right. With our players which flank they start on is irrelevant, because they swap and change throughout the game to give full backs something to think about.

Harry is one of two types of winger. He’s fast, yes. He’s got ability, yes. He’s also powerful and rugged, like a bulldog. he barges passed players, using his upper body strength as much as his pace.

After a disappointing end to last season he’s back on form and his goal at the weekend will add to his confidence. On his day, he’s the best player we have at the club. I stand by that statement, he gets fans off their seats.

  1. Not so bullish about two of your selections as yourself Gary. Anderson may well start today but long term I think Danny is looking for players in the wide positions with good technical ability… Harry has made some progress but I’m sure that whilst he gets people off their seats with.his bull in a China shop type runs they quickly end up back on their seats because the evidence may suggest that there is little end product… Long term I suggest will see one of the Newby loaders in that position. Away to Exeter may not be the right game for Scott’s return. He will be ring rusty and although he is commanding in the air I think he is prone to mistakes on the ground. ShacKell and Boswick seem to be forming a good partnership at the back and they were dominant against County so I see them retaining their partnership.
