Having collected the results from our poll earlier in the week, the striker you’d like to see Danny and Nicky sign is, rather overwhelmingly, Lyle Taylor.
Despite the presence of proven goal scorer Ricky Miller in the vote, as well as long-term target Simeon Akinola, it is Wimbledon striker Lyle Taylor who gets your pulses racing the most. He grabbed a whopping 78% of the votes, which with just under 500 of you voting is a real statement of the fans wishes.
Will Taylor be coming to the Bank? It is still an outside chance but it would represent a coup of Bostwick and Frecklington proportions. Taylor was a real menace for the first thirty minutes of our FA Cup clash against Wimbledon, he scored the goal that eliminated us before going off injured.
Also, not only do Wimbledon have Cody Macdonald and recently-acquired Joe Piggott up front, but they’re also got former England international Carlton Cole on trial with them. Are they preparing for life after Taylor? Who knows what can happen in football.
With less than two weeks of the transfer window left, I predict there will still be activity at the Bank, above and beyond Danny’s ‘one striker’. Expect outgoings as well as incomings as agents begin to panic, clubs begin to drop their demands and those who remained patient in the window reap the rewards.
I quite like the new poll thing, so I’m going to do another one!
The chain that was mentioned more than likely involves this fella.
Two departures for me, Stewart and Howe and probably one more in on top of a striker.
Can we afford out?
So far 5 departures and 4 incomings of a small squad!Unless theres more than the striker coming in!
Its 5 in. 4 signings + recalling Howe.
