Quiet Weekend For Ex-Imps, But Loanees Both Start in Ireland

It was a quiet weekend for former Imps across the divisions, with few familiar faces catching the eye both at home and abroad.

In the Championship, Derby County continued their strong run with a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. The winning goal came just before half-time, scored by Ageymang and set up by former City winger Joe Ward, who delivered the crucial assist to secure all three points for the Rams.

There was another ex-Imp on the scoresheet in League One, where Luton Town cruised to a 3-0 victory away at Stockport County. Left-back Cohen Bramall netted their second of the afternoon on 38 minutes with a superb curling free kick from outside the area. It was the only direct goal involvement by a former Lincoln player in League One action this weekend, but certainly one to remember.

In League Two, Grant Smith kept a clean sheet as Bromley battled to a goalless draw against Colchester United, now managed by his former boss, Danny Cowley. Smith’s solid display helped preserve a point in what was a tight encounter.

Also in League Two, Ollie Palmer was once again among the goals, continuing his fine form for Swindon Town. The striker found the net in their 2-1 win over Tranmere Rovers, while Patrick Brough, another ex-Imp, featured for the opposition. Palmer’s goal proved vital as Swindon climbed further up the table, extending their unbeaten run.

It wasn’t such a good day elsewhere for the former Lincoln contingent, but Danny Lloyd did manage to get on the scoresheet for Southport in the National League North. He opened the scoring in the 29th minute of their 2-0 win away at Hereford, with Jordan Slew—a player once linked with the Imps—adding the second.

Ireland Loanees

Across the Irish Sea, there was mixed news for two more players with Lincoln connections. MJ Kamara started on the right side of defence for Glentoran but was substituted at half-time with his side already trailing 2-0 to Glenavon—a side managed by former Imp Michael O’Connor. It was a big result for O’Connor’s men, who recorded only their second win of the season.

At Coleraine, meanwhile, Zane Okoro continued his strong form as his side drew 1-1 with Linfield in a top-of-the-table clash.

Okoro played 66 minutes and produced another tidy display, recording 86% pass accuracy, six successful dribbles from eight attempts and registering a shot on target. His consistency has been a real feature of Coleraine’s campaign so far, with his season average standing at 6.55 dribbles per game and a 68% success rate—impressive numbers for the young winger.
