Former Imps midfielder Elliott Whitehouse could miss the entire campaign for his new club after reportedly picking up a serious knee injury in training.
The Grimsby Telegraph states that the Imps Wembley hero has been injured in training, despite featuring recently for Grimsby against Cleethorpes in their first pre-season friendly.
Whitehouse ended a year and a half stay at City in early June, choosing to sign a deal with Michael Jolley at Blunder Park. His departure was met with disappointment by some, but acceptance by others.
Whitehouse arrived from Nuneaton early into Danny’s managerial reign, but never broke into the first team on a regular basis. His endeavour was always honest and he was incredibly hard working, but he didn’t quite do enough to earn himself a first team spot.
Despite the move and the ill-feeling it generated from some, if the reports are true then we’d like to wish Elliott all the best in his recovery. He’s a lovely lad and we never wish injury on any player, certainly not a serious one such as this.
Good luck Elliott, we’ll always have Wembley.

Other Imps’ fan took too Twitter to wish Elliott well.
Oh my. Sad news hope it is not as bad as it sounds. Stay strong son. Best wishes.?⚽️

I know a lot of us Imps will be spouting off about this, but I sincerely hope it’s nowhere near as bad as feared.

Sad for the lad but we definitely dodged a bullet there
Cursed by the Imp! Gutting for him. Hope he gets back to full fitness quickly.
