Lincoln City Trigger Extended Deal With Popular Defender

City have moved early to secure the future of Adam Reach, triggering a clause in his contract to extend his stay with us until the end of the 2026/27 season, with a further appearance-based option in place that could take the agreement on by another 12 months.

The left back has been one of the standout performers since arriving at Sincil Bank earlier in the campaign, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Michael Skubala’s side. Reach has already made 23 appearances in all competitions, contributing four goals, numbers that underline both his consistency and his attacking influence from wide areas.

That return includes one of the moments of the season so far, his superb strike against Barnsley, a goal that went on to be voted the EFL’s Goal of the Month for December. It was a finish that captured much of what Reach has brought to City, composure, quality and the confidence to make a decisive impact in big moments.

Off the pitch, his influence has been just as important. Speaking after the extension was confirmed, sporting director Jez George was clear that Reach’s value to the group goes well beyond the highlights reel.

“I do not have to say anything about Adam as his performances this season speak for themselves. His influence off the pitch, the standards he sets daily and his quiet leadership has been equally important,” George said.

“Adam is a class act in every respect and we are delighted that he is committed to another 18 months with a mechanism to extend that still further.”

For City, the decision to act early reflects both Reach’s importance to the current squad and a desire to maintain continuity as the club looks to build momentum. Securing a player of his experience and reliability for the medium term sends a clear signal about planning and ambition, while also ensuring that a key figure remains part of the group as we push on through the remainder of this season and beyond.

It also means that we approach the summer with no concerns over any of the current squad. It has been mentioned Jack Moylan may be out of contract, but he is not – his contract runs beyond this season, and has an option contained, meaning there is no fear for his future either.
