Tony Lormor – Pro Set – 1991

This card has huge significance for me because it’s one of the only ones (perhaps the only one) that I got myself in a packet and saved. It’s a bit dog-eared because it got flicked through at school. I started supporting City in late 1986, and this was the first instance of us featuring in a collection, which does make it special for me. Plus, I loved Tony Lormor.

The set itself is not rare; I have a full collection somewhere which I think was about £15, although individual cards do go for £1-£2. There were 100 cards in all, including some with referees on to bulk up the numbers. Pro Set, an American company, dropped two full collections, with this sandwiched in between.

I did think I had the Matt Dickens form the following season, but I don’t. You know what that means… *ahem*, eBay?
