The Imps’ trip to Exeter City, postponed after their FA Cup exploits, has been rearranged, and it makes for a tasty weekend for fans with the means and time off work.
The Imps will now make the trip to St James Park on Tuesday, 10 March, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45 pm. It doesn’t coincide with our trip to face Plymouth, but it does make for a possible weekend break in the south west of England.
That’s because on the Saturday before, we face Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium. Okay, that’s a two-hour journey, but it’s absolutely doable, with good train links between Exeter and Cardiff. Those who have time off work, drive a camper van, or have plenty of disposable income might well make a weekend of it, before coming back to LN5 for Stockport on March 14th.
A hectic week is capped off on March 17th, when we travel to West Yorkshire to see if Huddersfield have got any better than in our last two meetings, where their output-to-budget ratio has been severely lacking.

The original meeting between us and the Grecians had been set for this Saturday but was postponed following Exeter’s exploits, which saw them draw Manchester City. That’s given us a nice break, something that is needed after a sensational haul of points.
Looking at that little run of fixtures, Cardiff, Exeter, Stockport and Huddersfield, one would imagine a similar return, 10 from 12, would see us almost guaranteed a top six spot. That’s looking a long way ahead of course, but one can’t help but feel that run of matches, mirroring Christmas (Exeter aside), will be the next really pivotal run.
Assuming we keep up our current points-to-game ratio, of course.
Ticket information for the rearranged fixture will be released in due course, according to the club’s official comms.
