Four Injured For City As Pre-Season Rumbles On

The Imps currently have injury concerns around four players, revealed in the aftermath of our 4-3 defeat against Bromley.

Jack Moylan, Tom Hamer and Ryley Towler were all on the scoresheet as City came back from 3-1 down to 3-3, only to lose to a late Nicke Kabamba goal.

The game, played over 120 minutes, saw a vital run out for some players we’ve seen omitted recently. Ben House and Jovon Makama, both absent in the behind-closed-doors defeat against Huddersfield, returned to the side.

However, four players are missing, although the headline is perhaps more worrying then the news. Two of those players were unlikely to feature in the opening matchday squad, and while their injury is not good news, it isn’t a body blow.

Last week, Michael Skubala revealed Oisin Gallagher and MJ Kamson-Kamara are set for a spell on the sidelines.

“Oisin (Gallagher) came in looking really good, so it’s disappointing for him and us for him to be out.

“He has done his metatarsal, which is really unlucky and will keep him out for a bit of time, he’s not played in any of the pre-season games because of that,” he added.

“MJ Kamson-Kamara is also a long-term injury, so we’ve lost a couple.”

Some more disappointing news has since followed. Stacey West Patron-sponsored Erik Ring and Dutch defender Lewis Montsma both missed today’s game, and both will be assessed when they get back to the UK.

“(Erik) felt his quad in training yesterday. He had a late fitness test, but we thought it’s not worth risking and he’ll have to get a scan when he’s back,” Michael said after the 120-minute friendly this morning.

“Lewis has rolled his ankle. The pitches are quite dry and quite slow, and you can roll your ankle. We’re not sure how that’s going to be, but he’ll be scanned when we get back.”

The duo are expected to be on the fringes of the first team when fit, with Ring one player fans are particularly eager to see.

There was also some bad news for Trialist B, believed to be either Irish prospect Zach Nolan or former Spurs youth Marcel Lavinier. Whichever player it was came on after 60 minutes, only to be replaced a couple of minutes later in what was described as a ‘forced change’, suggesting an injury.

Finally, as expected, there is no sign of Dom Jefferies, who is still recovering from his hip operation over the summer. It’s believed he could be out until November.
