Kyle Perry (Telford, loan)

Kyle Perry leaving the club wasn’t a massive surprise. The striker joined in the summer of 2011 on the back of a strong showing at Tamworth, but of all the captures that summer he looked most out of his depth at the top end of the National League. He clearly wasn’t to David Holdsworth’s taste; he was loaned out to Telford; a club he scored two of his three Imps goals against.
What was utterly bizarre was the fact he was allowed to play against us, his parent club, when the two teams met. Of course, he scored the goal that earned his loan side a 1-1 draw. I get that we took Robbie Williams from them, and he played as well, but honestly, it might have been better if he hadn’t. This was one of those moments where supporters just looked on in amazement. I can’t remember if Perry celebrated; I can’t even remember the game.
