Max Sanders

I do not want this to happen, fact. However, if we’re talking about a lack of minutes, then Max has to enter the conversation. My hope is his recent outings have left Michael convinced there’s a role to play. My fear I that the congestion in the middle of the park will leave a talented and eager player seeking minutes elsewhere. Remember, Ted Bishop will play centrally when we’ve got wide players in, then there’s Liam Bridcutt, Conor McGrandles, Lasse Sorensen and Lewis Fiorini to keep happy. Can we get Max in as well? If not, I think a loan somewhere like Crawley would be good; a side he could influence, get plenty of minutes in but not realistically be farmed out there permanently. I’d like it to be a bit like when we loaned Michael O’Connor back in 2008 – a player dropping down who is a cut above, but who the club we lend him to has no chance of signing.
