Gillingham 0-3 Lincoln
This game was an odd one; Gillingham weren’t three goals worse than us, but live on Sky we put in an utterly ruthless display that had pundits purring. Perhaps this was the last game before the perceived collapse, an injury-induced fall from grace that ultimately finds us in League One again this season, but it was still enjoyable.

We got a couple of good goals, we soaked up the pressure in an end-to-end encounter and, most importantly of all, we beat Steve Evans. That is probably why this game is up there in the top five, because we beat him, the man we all love to hate. It would be remiss to focus purely on that though; it was the start of Conor McGrandles great form, and maybe the last time we saw the fast-flowing, free-scoring Imps we’d come to know and love in action. Everything after this was a bit tougher, with bodies missing and Covid hitting.
