Ten Years On: Who Were Our BSP Hopefuls?

Jamie Taylor

That’s right Imps fans, Jamie Taylor was on the bench for this game. He was arguably the most talented player in the squad that afternoon, and he came on late in the game without an impact. He really struggled that first season, with form and injuries, hitting his first goal on New Year’s Day against the Cods, but ending the season with three in three. In 2012/13 he was sensational though, and his goals were the difference between relegation and survival. He scored 15 in 45, including a brace to turn around a 2-1 deficit against a struggling Telford side, plus solitary goals to beat Kidderminster level in a vital late-season game against Tamworth. I think we were all gutted when he left to move back down south, and he’s still remembered fondly today, probably on a similar level to Danny Hone and Alan Power with regards to this squad.

Bradley Barraclough

Young forward Barraclough came to Lincoln and initially, he looked to have a lot of promise all peppered with pace as a tasty condiment. Sadly, when he got his chance, he struggled to impress himself on games and he ended up at Buxton on loan. Once Steve Tilson left Bradley never found a way back and he drifted into the lower reaches of the non-league scene with the likes of Nuneaton, Bradford Park Avenue and Spalding.
