Ellis Simms
Simms isn’t a wide player, he’s a striker, but we’re looking for one of those too and this name came up in my search. I just assumed he’d been signed by someone already, given his excellent form for Blackpool last season, but apparently not. He’s currently out injured until September, so if we did move for him it would be a risk in one respect, but not in others. He is a top-notch forward, a man who would have caused us lots of problems had he not missed the play-off final. You might recall him being outstanding as we drew 2-2 with Blackpool earlier this year, and he was expected to join them in the Championship. Their recent business makes this look unlikely, so he could feasibly still become an Imp. He’d be a hell of a signing too.
