Leon Clarke

Clarke is 100% not the sort of signing you’d expect for Lincoln but you never know. He’s 36, but he’s the type of striker that hasn’t faded with age; if anything he improved for a while. He started out at Wolves in 03/04, didn’t appear in the top flight, and had to wait 15 years for his chance. He then earned a promotion with Sheffield United a couple of years ago, and appeared twice in the top flight. He was with Shrewsbury for a spell last season, bagging one in ten, and whilst he fits the bill it would be a rather low key acquisition and absolutely not what you’d expect from Michael Appleton.
