Connor Kirby
Oddly, I recall exactly where I was when Alan Nixon linked us with O’Hara, Theo Archibald and former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Conor Kirby – mainly because I rushed home to pump out the article. As we now know, Kirby didn’t sign for us, neither did O’Hara, and as yet we haven’t seen the best of Archibald either. 22-year-old Kirby impressed on loan at Macclesfield last season and at the time he was linked with us, he did seem a viable signing. Of course, we now know Michael loans the cream of the crop and perhaps didn’t snap up as many free agents as observers thought he might. Anyhow, we didn’t sign Kirby, Harrogate Town did, and he’s slowly emerging as a key player for them. He’s made 21 appearances for the League Two new boys, and has recently become a member of the first XI, starting the last seven league matches.
