Calum MacDonald
I had forgotten all about this one, Blackpool left-back Callum McDonald. Nixon linked him with us, and as a left-back who can play centre back, he certainly fits the mould as a Michael Appleton signing – versatile, young and eager to kick on. Alan Nixon suggested Blackpool didn’t want to loan to a rival, so instead, he went out on loan to Tranmere, after being told he wouldn’t get game time at Bloomfield Road by Neil Critchley.
He’s since played 19 times for Tranmere but hasn’t featured since December 29th. he is out of contract at the end of this season, and therefore likely to move on. MacDonald has a couple of Scotland Under 21 caps to his name and started out at Derby, before a loan spell with Barrow.
