No Thanks: Steve ‘Turbo’ Robinson

My mate used to have a Renault 5 Turbo. They were quite the boy racer car back in the day, flash and fast with a big old exhaust and lots of poke. That was until the turbo went then they were basically your aunties car with a body kit on.
For Swindon, Steve Robinson was a solid performer. Almost 150 performances all came outside the bottom division and his box to box energy was often applauded by fans who appreciate lots of running about. When he signed for us, had there been social media, doubtless, they’d be saying things like ‘he should tear up that division,’ or ‘cheers, son’s crying’.
Sadly, the turbo had gone so we basically got your aunty in midfield. Injury restricted him to 11 starts. 11 fairly average starts although curiously we only lost twice with him in the team.
