Attackers

Matt Green (2017-2018 Grimsby)
It’s been a tough season for Green, our leading scorer in 2017/18. He’s currently with struggling Grimsby and came in for criticism this weekend as they were toothless in a 5-0 defeat.
John Akinde (2018-2020 Gillingham)
Dare I say, strikers are not a forte of ours, and whilst many of our defenders go on to do well, strikers do not. Big John is no exception, he’s up top for Gillingham this season and has one goal from 17 outings.
Lee Angol (2019 Leyton Orient)
Another of our former strikers signed by Steve Evans was Lee Angol. Lee later played for Mansfield, then us again, and he’s now at Orient. He has one goal this season n the EFL Trophy but hasn’t played since October.

Tyler Walker (2019-2020 Coventry City)
The missing piece of this season’s jigsaw has been spending time on the bench for Coventry, whom he signed for in the summer. He’s started just two matches for them, but appeared eight times in total, scoring twice. Give him time, he will succeed there.
Jake Hesketh (2019-2020 Crawley)
Jake Hesketh was the player keeping Jack Payne out of the side last season, and he’s now plying his trade with Crawley Town, on loan. he hasn’t scored for them yet, but has a solitary red card to his name, which ruled him out at the beginning of November.
Ollie Palmer (2017-2018 AFC Wimbledon)
Ah, Ollie Palmer, a player I was so critical of. Well, he’s in League One somehow, playing for Wimbledon sporadically. He’s appeared three times and hasn’t socred for them, but he did get three minutes at the end of this weekend’s encounter wth Rochdale.
Outside the Football League

Jordan Williams (2017-2018 Stockport)
Jordan Williams came on loan from Rochdale, with Billy Knott going the other way. he was a bit-part player, but is currently hunting a route back into the Football League with ambitious Stockport.
Mark O’Hara (2019 loanee Motherwell)
O’Hara is back up in Scotland after leaving Peterborough, playing for Motherwell in the top flight. he’s also appearing in the Europa League, and has three goals thus far this season.
Grant Smith (2018-2020 Wealdstone)
Keeper Smith moved to Boreham Wood last season but didn’t settle with his former club. His recently joined Wealdstone, who are fourth in the National League.
Matt Rhead (2017-2019 Boreham Wood)
The big man is, as I’m sure we all know, at Boreham Wood, where he has one goal from ten outings. He could be seen consoling Southend’s penalty taker in their recent FA Cup shoot-out elimination before celebrating his own side’s victory, proving he is still the same man as ever.
Michael O’Connor (2018-2020 Glenavon)
O’Connor, another likeable character, is back in his native Northern Ireland, playing for Glenavon. They’re sixth in the table and he recent bagged from the spot in a 4-4 draw with Coleraine.
Shay McCarten (2018-2019 Ballymena United)
Ballymena were delighted to pick up McCartan recently, who could surely have graced a Football league side had the pandemic not hit. He is now going to be competing against Michael O’Connor in the Northern Irish Premier League.
Josh Ginnelly (2017-2018 Heart of Midlothian)
The talented winger had two spells on loan with us and later joined Preston North End after impressing for Walsall. Still only 23, he has recently moved to Hearts on loan in the Scottish Championship, where he has one goal from five matches.
Jordan Roberts (2018-2019 Heart of Midlothian)
Roberts had a short loan spell from Ipswich Town, but like others struggled to impress. He’s now a team mate of Ginnelly in Edinburgh, where he has three starts to his name.
Nathan Arnold (2017-2018 Bourne Town Manager)
Nathan left us, and football, at the end of the EFL trophy winning season, appearing briefly for Altrincham and Boston. He is now forging a career in management with Bourne Town.
Billy Knott (2017-2018 Billericay)
Knot, a troubled but talented midfielder, is currently on loan at Billericay Town, from Isthmian League club Bowers & Pitsea. He is still only 27-years-old.

Juan Luque (2018-2019 Maidstone)
Luque joined on a short-term deal from Heybridge Swifts, but never managed to break through, He’s now in the National League with Maidstone, where he is impressing.
Bernard Mensah (2018-2019 Gloucester City)
Loanee Mensah played a handful of games for City on loan from Bristol Rovers, but never really impressed. He’s currently with Gloucester City in the National League North.
Cameron Stewart, Danny Rowe (criminally) Jason Shackell, Jordan Adebayo-Smith and Lee Frecklington are the only players who do not appear to have signed for other clubs at present.
