Hibernian fans have been having their say in the wake of Adam Jackson’s transfer to Lincoln City.
It might seem like old news now, such is the speed with which social media moves pre-season on these days. However, Jackson has officially been an Imp for less than 48 hours and Hibs fans have had plenty to say about it.
To recap, the 26-year-old represented England from under 16 to under 19 level, playing 24 times in total and scoring twice, all whilst on the books of Middlesbrough. He spent time out on loan at Halifax Town, Coventry City and Hartlepool Utd but he left for Barnsley in 2016 without making a top team appearance at the Riverside. He regularly turned out for Hartlepool in League Two in 2015/16, making 33 appearances and scoring three goals. A pattern is emerging here; he likes to get forward on occasion.

He was used sparingly under Heckingbottom in the Championship, making 33 outings in total across two seasons. They were relegated in 2018, but bounced back a year later, with Jackson again used sparingly. However, Daniel Stendel wanted to keep him at the club, but instead of penning a new deal, he moved north of the border to play for Hibs. That move saw him make 22 appearances, taking his senior total to 102, with eight goals.
He might have been in and out of the Hibs side, but it seems he was firmly in their hearts, at least those on the Easter Road terrace. They’ve been reacting to the move on Twitter over the last couple of days and, to give you an idea of the regard in which he is held, I’ve picked the best for you here.
Started to look like a solid defender who carried a real threat in the opposing box from set pieces too. Sorry to see him go but best wishes to him and maybe making room for some incoming in the squad.

Didn’t see that one coming tbh. Was just starting to perform and settle in the team as well

Good player and thought he would be a mainstay for years, sad to see him go but obviously wanted to return to England. Good luck to him.

Gutted at this. Easily our best centre half in the 2nd half of last season.

I liked the big fella. I thought he was pretty solid in a shaky Hibs defence. All the best Adam 😀👍
