Jordy Hiwula – Coventry City

This has come from a couple of those Twitter accounts but seems to be gaining some traction. Hiwula certainly fits the profile of the sort of player we might be looking for. He’s an attacker for one, he’s bagged goals at this level for two and he’s young enough to develop into an asset we might be able to sell.

Whilst he’s not a like-for-like when compared to Jonson Clarke-Harris, I see him in a similar vein. Clarke-Harris had a couple of stints at clubs in League One without making any major impact but has thrived at Bristol Rovers under the right management and coaching system. Hiwula could be like that.

You can read more on him in our recent article here, or just take the basic facts from the next paragraph.

He started his career as a youngster at Manchester City before spending time on loan with Yeovil and Walsall. His time at the Bescot was fairly successful, bagging nine in 19 outings before a permanent move to Huddersfield Town. From there he spent time on loan with Wigan,. Walsall, Bradford and Fleetwood, never quite bordering on prolific but often amongst the goals. He scored 12 in 49 across all competitions for the Bantams, then 12 in 53 for Fleetwood, before a permanent move to Coventry City.
