Rekeem Harper – West Brom
Six months ago I wouldn’t have dared write this. Harper played 23 times for the Baggies last season, 13 of those outings starts in the Championship. He’s an attacking midfielder who would fill the Hesketh / Payne role but seemed to be set for a strong career at the Hawthorns.
This season he’s appeared twice and was recently picked up by NTT20 as one they’d like to see go out on loan. Michael Appleton knows him from his time with the Baggies and in terms of quality, he’s got bags of it. West Brom might see a loan to the bottom end of the Championship as a good route, as they have with Sam Field. Alternatively, with Harper not even making the bench, they might want him to get regular minutes under his belt in League One. He has previously been on loan at this level, joining Blackburn Rovers in 2017/18 as they were promoted back to the Championship, but he played just nine times.
If they do, then there’s surely only one destination that they’d consider…..
