Jack Hendry – Celtic
This is one that has emerged today in the Daily Record. The 24-year-old, who has three Scotland caps to his name, has struggled for game time under Neil Lennon and is reportedly going to be allowed to seek pastures new in order to resurrect his career. The central defender began his career with Celtic as a young player, also spending time with Peterborough, Dundee United and Partick Thistle before breaking into senior football.
After making four senior appearances for the Partick he earned a move to Wigan, but struggled to break into the Latics side and was sent out on loan. After loan spells with Shrewsbury and MK Dons he moved to Dundee where his performances caught the eye of Celtic once more. After less than 30 outings back in Scotland, he signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Hoops. That was in January 2018 but has made just 27 appearances since, only one of which has come this season.
I can understand him being linked with us; we will be looking for younger players to play at the back, but if it were to be a loan that could cause an issue. I can’t see Bozzy being dropped, his committed displays have been the cornerstone of our recent upturn, so will it be a case of Bolger or Shackell making way?
If the move came with a possible permanent switch, then it would make more sense. With his pedigree and the right coaching, he could be turned into a big profit.
