Sometimes it’s a nice feeling to get certain photos for Lincoln players, like debuts, first goals, but in this case getting some photos of legend Rheady playing against the team he supports, Stoke City.
A sad picture for me this one. The youngster here is Haydn Tear playing for the under 18s against Harrowby Utd in the Lincs Cup. This was a horrendous tackle and broke Haydns leg! Now I’ve known Haydn since he was a small child as he went to school with my son. I was very nervous about showing this to his parents Lisa and Magnus but they eventually did ask me for it. He was part of the Brant Broughton team that went to The Hive to play in the FA’s Small School Tournament.
They finished 8th out of eight, but for a tiny little Lincolnshire school to advance to this tournament was a wonderful achievement, and my son was the only player booked during that competition! And if that wasn’t enough, If you look a little closely you will see that the pic is not sharp and upon looking at this pic I realised I was going to have to do something I said I wasn’t going to do! I had to buy a new lens!
So to see Haydn running and warming up at the recent U18 game at Man Utd was a wonderful sight to see for me, hopefully he will be back playing soon.
My son Elliott on his semi pro debut for Spalding Utd recently. He isn’t 18 until February 2020, so it was a very proud dad that took this pic of him playing against players much older than him. And to have Spalding fans shouting things like “Come on Elliott” coupled with ex-imp Kegan Everington and Spalding manager Lewis saying he should have got Man of the Match was a wonderful thing to hear for me! Made my day, as they say!
