Conor Washington

Connor Washington is still a free agent and again, he’s a player who we’d be making a big statement by signing. He’s most recently been with Sheffield United, spending six months there following his release by QPR in the winter window.
Washington is the player who would sit behind big John, looking to get ahead of him or around him as Shay and Danny Rowe did. He’s experienced in the third-tier too, scoring 33 goals in 94 outings for Peterborough after being spotted playing for St Ives.
He’s down on his luck, he’s struggled in the Championship and perhaps he could be attracted by a project. That’s what we are by the way; a project. We’re a side with potential and whilst we want investors at board level, we might get players like Washington looking to invest in us on the field. A drop in wages might bring him a fresh start and who knows, he might just get back to being that £2m striker he was when he left London Road.
