Matt Green Leaves Salford
Okay, so this isn’t exactly League One news, but it could be; he might move into our division.
He’s left Salford just six months after leaving Sincil Bank for the comfort of a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Ammies. There isn’t a huge amount of explanation as to why, but the popular forward has only lasted as long there as his Imps contract would have kept him with us for.
I like Matt Green and I suspect there is a role for him in League Two. I’m not the only one either, Twitter reaction to the move has suggested a move to Grimsby Town could be on the cards.
It’ make or break time for Michael Jolley this season, he’s surely got to be seen to progress and a player of Green’s quality could help push them on. His return of four goals from 21 Salford matches is not reflective of his potential, even at 32-years-old.

Gillingham Sign Rangers Defender
Evans has been picking up a few faces of late. He bagged Conor Ogilvie and Jack Bonham in the week and he’s capped that off by taking Lee Hodson from Glasgow Rangers.
Hodson has been on loan in the SPFL with St Mirren and reports suggested he was heading back there, but Evans has swooped in and offered a two-year deal.
Hodson, who has previously played for Watford and MK Dons, is a full back with 24 caps for Northern Ireland, as well as 15 SPFL starts for the Ibrox giants. He also made 76 Championship appearances for Watford after coming through their academy.
Southend eye Championship loan talent
Southend United are eyeing a move for defender Taylor Moore from Bristol City after he spent last season there on loan, as reported by the Southend Echo.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see us do a deal with them over the summer. Jamie McCombe is a close friend of Lee Johnson from their time playing together and now we can offer League One football we’re surely a good destination for young players.
Moore has been capped by England from Under 17 to Under 20 level, but has struggled to impose himself on the Robins’ first team set up.
Moore is a central defender who can play on the right. He’s 22-years-old and last season 34 outings for Southend, following on from a similar amount at Cheltenham the year before.
He’s had an interesting upbringing, playing for West Ham and Lens as a youngster, before breaking through with Ligue 1 side in 2014.
